Android Live Wallpapers
A downloadable game for Android
Explosive motion, eye-popping color, and a peaceful sense of calm — three live wallpapers that marked my first real steps into native Android development.
Sometimes it was a joy to simply make things that moved beautifully, instead of always games. These live wallpapers were my first experiments with Java, Eclipse, and Unity working together — exported from Unity, rebuilt in Eclipse, debugged line by line until they danced across a phone screen the way I imagined.
They were also, somewhat unexpectedly, my most popular creations ever:
✨ Fireworks Live Wallpaper — bright bursts of color against the night sky; celebratory, simple, and downloaded over 10,000 times.
🍂 Leaves Falling Free — golden, crimson, and vibrant leaves drifting slowly across the screen; thousands of people installed it every autumn.
🌈 Animated Gradient — a smooth, scrolling wash of shifting colors; a quiet favorite of my own, downloaded a few hundred times for its hypnotic simplicity.
For me, these weren’t just wallpapers — they were my first working bridge between art and code. They were also something I built specifically for myself, since I wanted them on my phone. Learning Java, Eclipse, and Android Studio was all new territory and a side bonus, and honestly every successful build felt like a small miracle.
I don’t know if they still run on modern Android devices — but they’re still beautiful in motion, and still part of my story.
Originally released on Google Play in 2013, re-released in 2025 as part of the Anachronic Archives, preserving three early experiments in ambient design and creative persistence.
